This concert revolves around the milestones AFTER graduation. Starting an artistic journey is not something taken lightly by any of us, and these songs are meant to tell the story of those that battle and persevere against less-than-90-seconds-in-the-room days, and something deep and destructive about a lonely moment in the city. All that, just to wake up the next morning and start again. All that, for 300 dollars a week, to do a revue in the middle of nowhere. All that, for the eventual Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Tour/Regional success of our entire cast. This is worth celebrating. This is a story worth singing. There's something exciting and terrifying and FEARLESS about what we do. So, we choose to revel in the struggle of being a 20-something, and share our stories through this concert.

With that announcement came the promise of 'No revivals - No dead authors - No boundaries,' and ultimately a cutting edge brand of theatre for Houston audiences. Kicking off TUTS Underground's inaugural season, the Houston premiere of LIZZIE, a musical about the axe wielding double-murderess Lizzie Borden, proves to be the perfect opener for a season of bold theatre.

TUTS Underground reveals the rock maven quartet to stage TUTS Underground's season opener and 'killer' rock musical Lizzie. Carrie Manolakos, Carrie Cimma, Natalie Charle Ellis and Courtney Markowitz headline the blood soaked retelling of the legend of Victorian girl and leading double murder suspect Lizzie Borden. The show runs Oct. 10 - 20 in Hobby Center's Zilkha Hall.
On Monday, June 17, composer Frank Wildhorn brought another installment of his popular 'Frank & Friends' concert to the Broadway at Birdland stage. For this outing, he brought a spectacular band and Broadway singers Teal Wicks (Jekyll & Hyde), Jackie Burns (Wicked) and Darren Ritchie (Wonderland) to celebrate the his Broadway and pop songbook. The new Broadway production of JEKYLL & HYDE, starring Constantine Maroulis and Deborah Cox, plays its final performance today, May 12, 2013, after 15 previews and 30 regular performances at the Marquis Theatre. Direct from a 25-week national tour which launched in October 2012, JEKYLL & HYDE began previews on Broadway on April 5 and opened on April 18, 2013. The New York Times reports that film producer Mike Medavoy ('Black Swan') and Rick Nicita of RP Media have teamed up to buy the film rights to the Broadway musical JEKYLL AND HYDE. The musical, with a book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and music by Frank Wildhorn, is set to return to Broadway's Marquis Theater in Spring 2013 following a 25-week National Tour.
