Kicking off their 2010 season, Drury Lane Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, presents an epic production of the nostalgic and powerful portrait of life in turn of the century America, RAGTIME. Previewing March 18, opening March 24, and running through May 23, the riveting production will be directed and choreographed by Rachel Rockwell, who received a Jeff Award nomination for her direction of last season's smash hit Miss Saigon. I may be the only Chicago theater critic of a certain age who has never seen "The Christmas Schooner." After its initial production by the Music Theatre program at Northwestern University in 1993, directed by Dominic Missimi, the show debuted at the old Bailiwick Repertory Theatre in 1996 and ran for thirteen holiday seasons, an extremely impressive track record, indeed.....

Whatever the thermometer might say; this summer will be hitting the 80s on stage at Theatre at the Center! The 1980's musical Footloose is currently running through August 16 at Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana. On July 30, from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Theatre at the Center will offer a special dinner/theater event, The Burger Blast, to be followed by the performance of Footloose at 7:30 p.m.

In the opening seconds of Theatre at the Center's production of the musical stage version of 'Footloose' now open in Munster, Indiana, the actor in question, Matt Raftery (starring as Ren), executes an impressive aerial move, half hip-hop and half gymnastics. The show explodes to an exciting start!
