Mark Clements Named Artistic Director at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre

Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Board of Trustees today announced that internationally acclaimed director Mark Clements will become the company's next Artistic Director. Clements has directed at more than 100 major theaters in the United States and Europe, including productions in London's West End, 11 seasons as the Artistic Director of Derby Playhouse in the United Kingdom, and six seasons as Associate Artistic Director for Moving Theatre Company, founded by Vanessa and Corin Redgrave. In the U.S., his work has been seen at New York's Roundabout Theatre and Classic Stage Company; and at Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre. Clements, who is currently directing OLIVER! at Walnut Street Theatre, will begin his debut season with The Rep in the fall of 2010.
West End Dims Lights in Tribute to Richardson

The West End theatre community joined in mourning the sudden loss of Natasha Richardson, who died Wednesday, March 18th at age 45. The BBC reports that theatre venues in London's West End dimmed their lights this evening in tribute to the late Richardson.

Theatres on Broadway dimmed their lights for a minute on Thursday, March 19th in honor of one of its brightest lights, Natasha Richardson, who passed away on Wednesday from head injuries after a skiing accident.

Rupert Goold directs Michael Gambon, David Bradley, David Walliams and Nick Dunning in Harold Pinter's No Man's Land, at the Duke of York's Theatre. The production is currently booking until 3 January 2009. A Gate Theatre, Dublin production, No Man's Land is presented by Sonia Friedman Productions and Michael Colgan, with design by Giles Cadle, lighting by Neil Austin and sound and music by Adam Cork. Goold's production transfers to London following its opening at the Gate Theatre, Dublin in August.

Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS presented renowned actor Corin Redgrave in Tynan, based on the diaries of the influential and often controversial English theatre critic and writer Kenneth Tynan, for one performance only on Monday, October 22 at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street at Astor Place). The performance benefited Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS and The Actors' Fund.
