The Joyce Theatre Presents the U.S. Debut of CENTRE NATIONAL de DANSE CONTEMPORAINE-ANGERS Directed by Robert Swinston, 3/10-15

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Linda Shelton Executive Director, proudly presents the U.S. debut of Le Centre National de Danse Contemporaine-Angers (CNDC) from March 10 - 15. For this highly anticipated debut, CNDC, under the artistic direction of former Merce Cunningham dancer and prote?ge? Robert Swinston, will perform Event, a compilation of excerpts from pieces choreographed by Cunningham from 1965-1990. New York City Council Passes Birth Certificate Modernization Bill

New York's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community today celebrates the New York City Council's overwhelmingly affirmative vote to pass legislation that removes the surgical requirements for transgender people born in New York City to correct the gender markers on their birth certificates.

NYC Parks Cuts Ribbon on Third Phase of Restorations to Washington Square Park

NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FAICP, yesterday joined NYC Department of Design and Construction Commissioner Dr. Feniosky Peña-Mora, Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer, City Council Members Margaret Chin and Corey Johnson, Community Board 2 Chair David Gruber, and children from P.S. 41, to cut the ribbon on the third phase of the renovations to Washington Square Park, celebrating the completion of the historic park's $30.6 million restoration.

Joan Rivers Delivers 15 Millionth Meal For GOD'S LOVE WE DELIVER

God's Love We Deliver marked a significant milestone in its history when the organization cooked and delivered its 15 millionth meal on Friday, May 2. God's Love was joined by many friends - old and new - including comedian, actress, talk show host, businesswoman and God's Love Board member Joan Rivers who helped lid and "kachunga" the 15 millionth meal. The milestone coincides with the 29th anniversary of when God's Love We Deliver's Founder, Ganga Stone, delivered a meal to Richard, a man living with AIDS, and the organization was born.

More than 400 guests joined two dozen celebrities and dignitaries at the annual Point Honors gala on April 7, which celebrated the accomplishments of Point Foundation (Point) scholarship recipients. Dr. Neal Baer, the Executive Producer and Showrunner for acclaimed television programs such as 'ER' and 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' and 'Under The Dome,' received the Point Leadership Award, and Lena Dunham, the Golden Globe Winner and Emmy Nominated Actress and Producer of HBO's 'Girls,' accepted the Point Horizon Award.
