The producers of the new musical AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, announced today that the world premiere will take place in Las Vegas at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on October 26-31, 2021 followed by a multi-season tour that will visit more than 50 cities in the 2021-2022 season.

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) is thrilled to announce multi-platinum award-winning singer and songwriter Jann Arden as the first 2020 inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. With accolades that include 19 top 10 singles and eight JUNO Awards, Arden is a beloved Canadian musical artist and personality. To celebrate her induction during The 49th Annual JUNO Awards on Sunday, March 15, 2020, Arden will grace the stage and perform live from the SaskTel Centre. Recognizing a high degree of achievement in and a commitment to vocal arts, the Handel and Haydn Society today announced the recipients of the 2019 Vocal Arts Program Awards. Presented annually by the H+H Education Committee, six musicians who are members or alumni of the Vocal Arts Program were awarded scholarships between $500 and $3,000.

Russian-American violinist Yevgeny Kutik, known for his “dark-hued tone and razor-sharp technique” (The New York Times), has launched a new commissioning and recording project titled Meditations on Family via Marquis Classics. Kutik has commissioned eight composers to translate a personal family photo into a short musical miniature for violin and various ensemble. He envisions the project as a living archive of new works inspired by memories, home, and belonging. Each track has been released digitally weekly, and the full EP CD, produced by four-time Grammy winner Jesse Lewis, will be released on March 22, 2019. Kutik will make his Kennedy Center debut presented by Washington Performing Arts on April 23, performing selections from Meditations on Family and his previous project, Music from the Suitcase.

The recording of Vaughan Williams: Piano Concerto; Oboe Concerto; Serenade to Music; Flos Campi featuring the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) received a nomination for a JUNO Award in the Classical Album of the Year: Large Ensemble category.
