Rehearsals begin Monday, December 8 in New York City for the new Broadway production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's beloved Oscar and Tony Award-winning film and stage musical, Gigi.

Thirty-nine students from the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre have been bestowed with the honor and invited to participate in the 2015 Junior Theater Festival (JTF) held in Atlanta, Georgia on January 16, 17, and 18. Created by New York's iTheatrics and produced by the Junior Theatre group, this nationwide event is dedicated to celebrating young people and musical theatre.

BWW earlier reported the sad news that EGOT winner and entertainment icon Mike Nichols passed away suddenly on Wednesday. Friends and colleagues have already turned to Twitter to express their sorrow at the unexpected news. BWW will continue to update the reactions as they are posted.

Tonight's MADAM SECRETARY was a real barn burner Stranger Friends, (or technically a chemical filled silk dye factory burner), as our Secretary went on her first diplomatic visitation to India. I have to say that I was sweating more than the Secretary's Aide Blake during his Indian meal, with all of the twists, turns, and reveals on tonight's episode. Guest star's this week included Corey Cott, fresh off his stand-out performances as Jack Kelly in the recent production of Broadway's NEWSIES, and one of my favorite actors of stage and screen, John Shea, who played one of the best Lex Luthor's ever in THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN.

On Monday, October 27, the Broadway at Birdland series was proud to present singer Trevor McQueen, who made his Birdland concert debut with a 17-piece big band. The concert featured Trevor's original tunes, and an epic salute to his musical inspiration, Sammy Davis, Jr. Musical direction and arrangements were by Angelo Di Loreto and Bryan Carter. Victoria Clark, who won a Tony Award for her luminous performance in The Light in the Piazza and was also Tony-nominated for Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella and Sister Act, will star as Mamita Alvarez. Dee Hoty, who has starred on Broadway in City of Angels, Me and My Girl and Mamma Mia! and is a three-time Tony Award nominee for The Will Rogers Follies, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public and Footloose, will star as Aunt Alicia. Gigi also stars Vanessa Hudgens in the title role, two-time Tony Award-nominee Howard McGillin (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Anything Goes, The Phantom of the Opera) as Honore Lachaille, Corey Cott (Newsies) as Gaston Lachaille and Steffanie Leigh (Mary Poppins) as Liane d'Exelmans.

The national tour company of PIPPIN challenged the Broadway cast of NEWSIES to complete the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and the boys have taken them up on their dare.
