Lerner Publishing Group has received two 2016 American Library Association (ALA) Youth Media Awards. The ALA announced at the Midwinter Meeting in Boston today that Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Pérez is the recipient of a Michael L. Printz Honor, and The Book Itch: Freedom, Truth & Harlem's Greatest Bookstore written by Vaunda Micheaux Nelson and illustrated by R. Gregory Christie is the recipient of a Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor.

Directed by DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty, ALL THE WAY brings company members from two of the largest Texas resident theaters to collaborate and perform on stage, beginning with the Houston premiere in the Alley's newly renovated Hubbard Theatre January 29-February 21, 2016.

Asolo Rep Proudly to Stage ALL THE WAY

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly kicks off its winter repertory season with the 2014 Tony Award winner for Best Play, Pulitzer Prize-winner Robert Schenkkan's political drama ALL THE WAY. Asolo Rep's production will be directed by Emily Sophia Knapp, who served as the associate director of the Broadway, American Repertory Theatre, Seattle Rep and world premiere Oregon Shakespeare Festival productions. Hailed by NPR as a 'sensational night of theatre,' previews for ALL THE WAY are January 6 and 7 at 8pm, opening night is January 8 at 8pm, and the production runs in rotating rep through Saturday, April 9.

That single statement, made by President Lyndon Johnson, sums up the theme of ALL THE WAY; a new play by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, now playing at ZACH Theatre. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play, ALL THE WAY examines the period between Kennedy's assassination and Johnson's landslide reelection on November 3, 1964. ALL THE WAY is the first of two plays by Schenkkan on Johnson's presidency. The second part, THE GREAT SOCIETY, continues the Johnson story from 1964 to 1968.
