Toronto Operetta Theatre opens the 2013-2014 Season on Sunday, November 3 at 2 pm at the St. Lawrence Centre with THE SAUCY SEÑORITA, based on the zarzuela La Revoltosa by Ruperto Chapi. Premiering at the Apolo Theatre in Madrid in 1897, Chapi's scintillating score is one of the masterpieces of the género chico genre. TOT is the only company in Canada devoted to music theatre in all its variety and has been instrumental in raising the profile of this exciting Spanish facet of the music theatre art form. THE SAUCY SEÑORITA will be presented under the Honorary Patronage of Don Francisco Pascual de la Parte, Consul General of Spain in Toronto and the Club Hispano of Toronto.
The New York Philharmonic in collaboration with CAMI Music will celebrate the Chinese New Year for the third consecutive year, welcoming the Year of the Horse with a concert featuring major works of both the Chinese and Western canon on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. The event celebrates the cultural heritage of China and America and honors the Chinese- American community. Long Yu — artistic director and chief conductor of the China Philharmonic, music director of the Shanghai and Guanzhou Symphony Orchestras, and artistic director of the Beijing Music Festival — will return to the Philharmonic to conduct the concert.

Roberto Bolle and Friends was a special evening of dance featuring international Ballet Stars. Roberto Bolle, principal dancer of the American Ballet Theatre and Ètoile of La Scala in Milan acted as both artistic director and star as he danced alongside the world's top dancers performing pas de deux and solos from both classic and modern ballets. Ms. Perez, a graduate of New York's renowned Julliard School is a great admirer of French opera works. Ms. Perez made her operatic debut with the Canadian Opera Company singing the title role of Juliet with Marcello Giordani as Romeo, in Gounod's Romeo and Juliet. JetBlue Airways (JBLU) today announced its intent to serve Port-au-Prince, Haiti with daily nonstop service from both New York City and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood. From Toussaint Louverture International Airport (PAP) in the Haitian capital, JetBlue plans to offer one daily nonstop flight to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and twice daily flights to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), subject to receipt of government operating authority.
