The Apple Store in SoHo (103 Prince Street) will host a special afternoon with composer/creator David Byrne along with the cast of the hit off-Broadway musical Here Lies Love on Saturday afternoon, October 25th from 2 to 3 p.m.
Jaygee Macapugay, who appeared in the cast of the off-Broadway hit musical Here Lies Love, will assume the title role of 'Imelda Marcos' with her first official performance tonight, October 20th.
After a sold-out engagement at The Public Theater in 2013 and the current commercial off-Broadway run at The Public Theater producers Joey Parnes and Emursive have announced that the David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's' smash hit musical, Here Lies Love, directed by Alex Timbers, will play its final performance in New York on Sunday, January 4th, 2015. The initial Public Theater production began performances on April 2, 2013 and ended its run (after four extensions) on July 28, 2013. The current production reopened at The Public Theater on April 14, 2014 with an official opening on May 1, 2014

David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's' smash hit musical, Here Lies Love, directed by Alex Timbers begins Friday late night performances on Friday, September 12 at 10:30 p.m. at the Public Theater's LuEsther Hall (425 Lafayette Street, NYC). In addition to the late night performances, there will also be 7:00 p.m. performances on Fridays. This replaces the current Summer Friday schedule of 5:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. performances which play until Friday, September 5.

The Public's HERE LIES LOVE kicked off its 'Summer Friday' performances on Friday. On the Friday, July 11th kickoff, guests in attendance included Alan Rickman, Tommy Tune, Anika Larsen, After Midnight's Karine Plantadit, Andrew Andrew and Sirius XM's Julie James. Imelda Marcos is a ripe public figure for having a biographic musical written about her. Personally, I always expected a musical about her life would have that grand and epic cinematic sound of Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA. However, I couldn't be more pleased with David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's rich pop score for HERE LIES LOVE.
Joan Rivers was seen dancing along with cast of the David Byrne/Fatboy Slim hit musical HERE LIES LOVE, directed by Alex Timbers at the Public Theatre. Joan opted not for the seated balcony but actually brought flats and joined the audience on the disco floor where the show takes place. She loved the show so much that she raved about it two days later on Fox 5's 'Good Day New York' as well as at her new book signing at Barnes & Noble on Union Square, telling fans, 'If you see one show this year, you must see HERE LIES LOVE. The principal cast from the 2013 world premiere of Here Lies Love returns, including Ruthie Ann Miles and Jose Llana as Imelda and Ferdinand Marcos, and Conrad Ricamora as Ninoy Aquino.
