Today, June 5, several of this year's Tony nominees enjoyed the sunshine on top of the Empire State building for a special meet and greet and photo op. Yesterday, May 24, New Dramatists honored two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters with their 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 63rd Annual Spring Luncheon tribute at the New York Marriott Marquis. Among those who offered tributes were Emmy Award-winner Mary Tyler Moore, Peters' Tony Award-winning A Little Night Music co-star Elaine Stritch, and New Dramatists Artistic Director Todd London. Tony and Academy Award-winner Joel Grey and Peters' Tony-nominated Gypsy co-star John Dossett offered musical tributes. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the event and brings you photo coverage below!

The Drama League announced today the winners for the 78th Annual Drama League Awards: Distinguished Play, Other Desert Cities, presented by Philip Seymour Hoffman; Distinguished Revival of a Play, Death of a Salesman, presented by Christian Borle; Distinguished Production of a Musical, Once, presented by Cynthia Nixon; Distinguished Revival of a Musical, Follies, presented by Kelli O'Hara; and Distinguished Performance, Audra McDonald, presented by John Lithgow at a star-studded luncheon ceremony hosted by Stockard Channing (Other Desert Cities) and John Larroquette (Gore Vidal's The Best Man) at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.

The Goodman Theatre and Derrick Sanders, in collaboration with the Department of Theatre and Music at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), the League of Chicago Theatres, American Theater Company, Court Theatre, Victory Gardens Theatre and Atlanta's True Colors Theatre Company have announced that Chicago's own Christian Helem (Chicago High School for the Arts - American Theater Company), placed second in the national August Wilson Monologue Competition held this past Monday, May 7, 2012, at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre.

Jujamcyn Theaters (Jordan Roth, President) and True Colors Theatre Company (Kenny Leon, Co-Founding Artistic Director) held the 4th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition this past Monday, May 7, at at the August Wilson Theatre, where high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh and Seattle performed monologues by the late, legendary American playwright. The event, which is free and open to the public, features high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh and Seattle performing monologues by the late, legendary American playwright.

The Off-Broadway League today announced the confirmed performers for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. Additionally, the remaining tickets to the show have been released for sale to the public at a discounted rate of $35 each. The 27th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards will be handed out this Sunday, May 6, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center, beginning at 7:00pm EST, in a ceremony that will once again benefit the Actors Fund.
