John Guare's Revised HIS GIRL FRIDAY Opens at Barrington Stage Tonight

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, presents the American screwball comedy His Girl Friday, John Guare's adaptation of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's original play The Front Page and the screen version His Girl Friday, now through August 30 at Barrington Stage's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage. Opening night is tonight, August 12 at 7pm.

The Drama of an Invisible Black Man of a Certain Age in the Last Days of Political Correctness' is a play for one man written by noted African-American playwright Henry Miller and performed by noted opera singer Arthur Woodley. Its world premiere will be presented September 12 to 20 by Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival.

 The Riant Theatre will kick off the  Strawberry One-Act Festival with a launch party and reception  presenting Pioneer of the Arts Awards honoring  Liesl Tommy, Obie winning director from South Africa, and Peter Anthony Andrews, the first African American TV network entertainment vice president, on Sunday, July 26 at the Poet's Den Theatre, 309 East 108th Street from 3:00pm - 7:00pm.  Tickets for the event are $50.

Historical Fiction Author E.L. Doctorow Dies at Age 84
