Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran Releases Memoir, BLOWING SANDSTORM

His unit was cobbled together at the last minute from six states that never trained together. However, under mind-boggling parameters, they were able to participate in the greatest distribution, storage, and receipt of petroleum/fuel in the history of modern warfare. Furthermore, he talks about his upbringing in Mississippi as well as the extra boost that sustained him during this time. Everyone is looking for that extra boost that propels them when they feel like quitting. It's the extra boost that turns losing teams into winners. Some find an extra boost in sports drinks, energy pills, etc. to sustain them when their level of effort is literally empty or on 'E.' Once readers hear Crenshaw Jr's story, they will think how to get that extra boost out of life. 'Blowing Sandstorm' will be available in print and ebook formats. BWW Review: THE STILL ALARM and BLACK COMEDY Share the Stage at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre

Farce is a very difficult type of comedy to do well. It takes the ability of actors to present real characters in outrageously unreal situations so that we care about what happens to them. Just using over-the-top mannerisms and loud vocalizations does not accomplish this, and what you wind up seeing onstage are caricatures rather than real people who just get caught in outrageous situations beyond their control. Such is the case with the two one acts now being presented at Santa Monica's Morgan-Wixson Theatre, The Still Alarm by George S. Kaufman and Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer.
