Fishamble: The New Play Company to Bring LITTLE THING, BIG THING to 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will welcome the return of Fishamble: The New Play Company (Dublin, Ireland) with the US premiere of LITTLE THING, BIG THING written by Donal O'Kelly and directed by Jim Culleton. Part of Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival, LITTLE THING, BIG THING begins performances on Wednesday, September 2 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 27.  Press opening is Tuesday, September 8 at 7:15 PM.  The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets are $35 ($24.50 for 59E59 Members). American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) continues its 2014-15 season with Colm Toibin's fiercely lyrical solo play, Testament. Originally staged at the Dublin Theatre Festival in 2011-and retitled for Broadway in 2013 as The Testament of Mary-Testament is an incisive, vivid, and deeply human work that recounts in riveting detail a defiant mother's story of her son, who has been taken from her by men she regards as fanatics. Directed by A.C.T. Artistic Director Carey Perloff and starring Canadian leading actor, Seana McKenna (last seen in A.C.T.'s production of Napoli!), Testament has been hailed as 'beautiful and daring' by the New York Times and was a 2013 Tony Award nominee for Best New Play. Testament will perform at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary Street, San Francisco) through November 23, 2014. Press night for Testament will be tonight, November 5, 2014.

The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announcesJourneys as the theme for the 25th Anniversary Fall Festival. More than 80 programs will take place in and around Chicago Oct. 25-Nov. 9, 2014 as part of the annual arts and ideas festival.
