AMC Announces New Series THE KILLING

AMC announced today, from the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, California, the premiere of AMC's next original series, 'The Killing,' on Sunday, April 3rd at 10pm ET/PT. From writer, executive producer and series' showrunner Veena Sud ('Cold Case'), 'The Killing' is based on the wildly successful Danish television series 'Forbrydelsen.' It tells the story of the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation. Season one consists of thirteen, one-hour episodes.

AMC begins production today in Vancouver on the network's next original series, 'The Killing.' From writer, executive producer and series' showrunner Veena Sud ('Cold Case'), 'The Killing' is based on the wildly successful Danish television series 'Forbrydelsen.' It tells the story of the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation. Produced by Fox Television Studios, it is executive produced by Mikkel Bondesen ('Burn Notice') for Fuse Entertainment. Fuse's Kristen Campo co-produces. Season one consists of thirteen, one-hour episodes and is slated to premiere in March 2011.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.

Deadline.com has revealed that Ari Graynor will team up with Jonah Hill in the David Gordon Green-directed The Sitter for Fox. Michael De Luca prodeces the film, which, according to The Hollywood Reporter 'follows a college student, suspended for the semester and living at home with his single mom, who has a night to remember when he gets talked into baby-sitting the eccentric kids next door: two boys and a wild 8-year-old girl.'

FOX updates its summer schedule with HELL'S KITCHEN making its seventh season premiere on Tuesday, June 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), and culinary competition series MASTERCHEF premiering Tuesday, July 27 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The new summer season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE will air performance shows on Wednesdays and results shows on Thursdays following the season premiere on Thursday, May 27 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).
