Jonathan Kent directs as part of Roundabout Theatre Company's 50th anniversary season. LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT began on April 3, 2016, and just opened last night, April 27, 2016. This is a limited engagement through Sunday, June 26, 2016 on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). Roundabout Theatre Company, in association with Ryan Murphy, has announced final casting for Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night, starring Academy and Emmy Award winner Jessica Lange as 'Mary Tyrone,' Golden Globe winner and Tony Award nominee Gabriel Byrne as 'James Tyrone,' Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon as 'James Tyrone, Jr.,' and Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr. as 'Edmund Tyrone.' Colby Minifie joins the previously announced cast as 'Cathleen.' Jonathan Kent will direct, as part of Roundabout Theatre Company's 50th anniversary season.

SUMMER SHORTS 2015 began at 59E59 Theaters, produced by Throughline Artists (J.J. Kandel, Producing Director), on July 17 and continues through August 29. The Off-Broadway Opening Party was held at Fogo de Chao Churrascaria last night, August 10, in New York City, and BroadwayWorld has photos of the festivities below!

Casting is complete for SUMMER SHORTS 2015 at 59E59 Theaters, produced by Throughline Artists (J.J. Kandel, Producing Director). 

 The York Theatre Company and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series will present four new works during the month of June:  Orville and Wilbur Did It! a play byDavid Zellnik with songs by Mr. Zellnik and Eric Svejcar; Juliet and Juliet, based on a concept by Natalie Tenenbaum and Sean Patterson, with book and lyrics by Mr. Patterson, and music by Ms. Tenenbaum;  Elsie Janis and the Boys with book & lyrics by Carol Crittenden and music by John T. Prestianni; and Grounded for Life with book by Pat Hazell and Bill Habeeb, lyrics by Lawrence Goldberg and Mr. Hazell, and music by Mr. Goldberg at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).  The readings are open to the public with a suggested donation of $5.00. 

MCC Theater's Permission, the new comedy from Hand to God playwright Robert Askins recently extended by a week through June 14th. Permission celebrates its Opening Night tonight, May 20th, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). Permission stars Justin Bartha, of Broadway's Lend Me A Tenor, Off-Broadway's All New People and the blockbuster film The Hangover; Twilight Saga and 'Grey's Anatomy' Emmy-nominated star Elizabeth Reaser, returning to MCC following her critically acclaimed performance in this fall's The Money Shot; and theater regulars Nicole Lowrance, Talene Monahon, and Lucas Near-Verbrugghe. MCC Theater presents the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley's The Nether directed by Anne Kaufman. Ben Rosenfield, memorably of the final two seasons of 'Boardwalk Empire,' and rising talent Sophia Anne Caruso will take on the roles of Woodnut and Iris, respectively. As previously announced, The Nether will also star 'Nurse Jackie' Emmy Award winner Merritt Wever, New York theater veteran Peter Friedman and Tony Award winner Frank Wood.
