Beginning tonight, November 4, 2016, the Royal Shakespeare Company's acclaimed production of Shakespeare's King Lear will play in select movie houses across North America.

In her latest book, 'The Light of Life,' Barbie shares how everyone can turn on 'The Light.' Much like flicking the switch and turning on a light bulb in a dark room, Barbie testifies how 'The Light' has allowed her to live a life full of enthusiasm, fun, love and passion with a family that includes a husband, four beautiful children, dogs, cats, chickens, and a calendar so heavy the magnet won't hold it on the refrigerator. Like most parents, Barbie's typical day includes packing lunches, catching buses, the chaos of looking for missing socks, doing forgotten homework, running (literally) to ball practices, chasing missed buses...you get the picture. But Barbie found 'The Light,' and when she learned how to apply it to her life, she found that it brought peace and comfort to what would be an otherwise chaotic world. Barbie's book 'The Light of Life' can be found online and in stores everywhere.

On Saturday evening, November 5, 2016, at 7 p.m., at Riverside's Fox Performing Arts Center, members of the Second City comedy troupe will apply their unique comedy style to this election season, in a performance of UNELECTABLE YOU: THE SECOND CITY'S COMPLETELY UNBIASED POLITICAL REVUE. UNELECTABLE YOU, jointly presented by Second City and Slate Magazine, is a fast-paced combination of sketch, improvisation, music, and multi-media that takes a hard-hitting look at the United States' election process in general and the improbable events of 2016 in particular.

GK Arts Center is proud to host Gelsey Kirkland Ballet's perennial holiday classic, The Nutcracker. This is the fourth year this production of The Nutcracker will be performed over the course of a special two-week engagement, running December 8-18 at the GK Arts Center (29 Jay Street, formerly St. Ann's Warehouse in Dumbo, Brooklyn, N.Y.).  The 18-member company is under the artistic direction of Gelsey Kirkland and Michael Chernov.
