Jekyll & Hyde composer Frank Wildhorn brought his monthly "Frank & Friends," back to the Broadway at Birdland stage this past Monday night.
On Monday, July 16, Broadway at Birdland was proud to present another "Frank & Friends," a monthly concert hosted by multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn. Joining Frank onstage was the gifted Grammy-nominated jazz singer Jane Monheit, Las Vegas and Cafe Carlyle headliner Clint Holmes, and a band that included David Mann on woodwinds, Chris Lightcap on bass and Clint de Ganon on drums. The historic room was packed with showbiz glitterati, including Chita Rivera (upcoming Drood), Ben Vereen, Constantine Maroulis (upcoming Jekyll & Hyde), Sara Gettelfinger (Addams Family tour), Patrick Page (Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark), and Paige Davis (host of the upcoming talk show "Home & Family").

She will share stories from her incredible journey in show business in an evening that will feature some of her favorite pop songs, those from previous Broadway appearances, and selections from the upcoming Broadway musicals, Leap of Faith, by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, and Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich's Ever After, a musical adaptation of the 20th Century Fox Film.

Last night, August 2, audiences at Joe's Pub took a musical road trip across the country in Free to Dream, an evening devoted to the songs of Katsaros and Schermerhorn. Featuring an all-star Broadway cast including Rent star Anthony Rapp and Avenue Q's John Tartaglia and Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Free to Dream showcased the people and places that make up the fabric of America; from country, rock and pop, to swing and the blues. Proceeds from Free to Dream benefit The New York Pops' education programs, which bring music to thousands of public schoolchildren across the five boroughs of New York City. The evening was hosted by The New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke, and featured the Camp Broadway Kids, as well as the voice of Willard Scott as ‘DJ Sam.'
