Diana Degarmo To Star in LIBERTY: A NEW MUSICAL at the NYMF Festival

Diana Degarmo, star of the Off-Broadway hit The TOXIC AVENGER; will play the title role in a one-night-only, concert presentation of LIBERTY: A NEW MUSICAL. Produced by the New York Musical Theater Festival and Theresa Wozunk, LIBERTY: A NEW MUSICAL will make its premiere at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Theatre Row?s Acorn Theatre (410 W 42nd Street). Additional casting will be announced shortly.

NYMF Announces Six Semifinalists for NYMFs 'Next Broadway Sensation,' Kate Shindle to Host Round 2

The first round of auditions for NYMF's Next Broadway sensation took place last Sunday night at New World Stages, with the live audience and the panel of judges, Bailey Hanks, Orfeh (Legally Blonde) and Marc Kudisch (9 to 5) selecting five finalists with a sixth finalist chosen by online voters who were able to see all of the performance at Theatermania.com thanks to DFD TV.

Due to heavy demand for tickets, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Andy Sandberg (Hair) have announced two additional performances for The Last Smoker in America with Book & Lyrics by Bill Russell (Side Show, Tony Award Nominee), and Music by Peter Melnick (Adrift in Macao, Drama Desk Nominee) on Wednesday afternoon, October 14th at 1:00 p.m. and late night Friday, October 16th at 11:00 p.m.

LETTERS TO DADDY, Jr. Plays NYMF At Manhattan Movement and Arts Center 10/4

Letters To Daddy, Jr., a contemporary musical that celebrates life through the eyes of a child written and produced by Center Stages' JILL JAYSEN with music and lyrics by MARK SHEPARD and conceived by 4e Productions will be presented as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), Letters to Daddy, Jr. will be presented for two performances only Sunday, October 4th at 1pm and 4pm at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, 248 West 60th Street between Amsterdam and West End Avenue.

NYMF and Mass Street Productions Present STREET LIGHTS 10/13-18

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Mass Street Productions/Ryan J. Davis are proud to present the World Premiere of Street Lights, a contemporary musical drama by Joe Drymala. New York Musical Theatre Festival's 'Next Broadway Sensation,' formerly known as 'Broadway Idol,' returns for its fourth year. Diana DeGarmo, 'American Idol' (Season 3) runner-up, now in The Toxic Avenger at New World Stages, will serve as host for the competition's first round on September 13; celebrity hosts for the semifinals on September 20 and the Broadway Sensation October 4 finale will be announced shortly. Confirmed judges include Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, upcoming film Taking Woodstock), Bailey Hanks and Orfeh (Legally Blonde), composer/lyricist Paul Scott Goodman (Rooms), Kacie Sheik and Allison Case (Hair), and record producer Noah Cornman of Sh-k-boom Records...
