The iconic Cowardly Lion costume, worn by actor Bert Lahr in the 1939 classic THE WIZARD OF OZ, fetched $3 million at a Hollywood memorabilia auction held at Bonhams in New York City yesterday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft and Joey Luft -- Judy Garland's three children -- will reunite at the 2014 Academy Awards this weekend for a tribute to THE WIZARD OF OZ, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

The remaster will reportedly be handled much in the same way as JURASSIC PARK in 3-D and TITANIC, and a DVD release is set to coincide with the film's 75th anniversary.

ETonline reports that Julien's Auction house has sold the dress worn by the character 'Dorothy' in the iconic 1939 film THE WIZARD OF OZ for a a whopping $480,000. Actress Judy Garland donned the blue gingham frock, which brought in the highest price of any other piece of film memorabilia offered at the event held over the weekend.

The Sun newspaper has reported that the planned UK reality show to find a 'Dorothy' for the upcoming West End stage production of 'The Wizard of Oz' has been cancelled by the BBC after Andrew Lloyd Webber withdrew.
