Sheffield Theatres Announces Full Autumn Season For 2013

Sheffield Theatres today unveils its full autumn season of produced and touring work taking place from September 2013 - January 2014, alongside the news that Phil Davis (Whitechapel and Quadrophenia) will star as Fagin in the company's Christmas musical, Oliver! and Daniel Lapaine (Muriel's Wedding) will lead the cast of The Winter's Tale as Leontes.

An exciting programme of platform events has been scheduled to run in conjunction with The Hothouse, Jamie Lloyd Productions' second show for Trafalgar Studios. The programme includes: A pre-show Q&A with award winning designer Soutra Gilmour; post show Q&As with the cast and director Jamie Lloyd; a Pinter workshop hosted by director Jamie Lloyd; two Pinter shorts - Family Voices and Victoria Station performed by a cast including Joanna Lumley and Andrew Scott; and three panel discussions: the first with Michael Billington, Nick Payne and Jamie Lloyd followed by a second with Harold Pinter's wife, Lady Antonia Fraser - in conversation with Jamie Lloyd, and finally a panel event to discuss abuse of human rights.

Harold Pinter's macabre tragicomedy returns to London's West End in this new production directed by Jamie Lloyd (Donmar's Passion, Broadway's Cyrano de Bergerac, National Theatre's She Stoops to Conquer, Royal Court's The Pride). It follows the critically acclaimed and sold out Macbeth, starring James McAvoy, in a thrilling season of work for Trafalgar Transformed. According to the Daily Mail, Lynda Bellingham will star in Kay Mellor's 'slightly re-written' version of her play A Passionate Woman for Sheffield Theatres. Bellingham will reunite with 'All Creatures Great And Small' co-star Christopher Timothy, as well as Peter McMillan. The show runs September 10-21, 2013, before heading out on a national tour. Mellor will direct.

Previously playing Tuesday through Sunday, ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR will now play Monday through Saturday, according to the production. The show will play Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 3pm.
