Sonia Friedman Productions is today celebrating as the full Olivier Awards Nominations list included 20 potential winners for productions the company is behind.

Yesterday's October 15th live international broadcast of Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role of Lyndsey Turner's production of William Shakespeare's HAMLET was seen by more than 225,000 people, making it the largest global audience for a live broadcast day of any title in National Theatre Live history.

·         In 2016 the Royal Court Theatre celebrates its 60th birthday by looking towards the future. The new season includes six world premieres, five UK and worldwide collaborations, one European premiere, a major collaboration with LIFT, a partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas, the return of Open Court and ongoing work in Tottenham and Pimlico.

The National Theatre Live has released the first trailer for HAMLET, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role. The production started performances on 5 August and officially opened 25 August at the Barbican Theatre for an exclusive run through 31 October 2015. After eight record breaking years, the National Theatre has announced the final extension of its West End run of WAR HORSE, with a last performance at the New London Theatre scheduled for 12 March 2016. 

Full casting is announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) family winter production of Wendy & Peter Pan. A magical adaptation of JM Barrie's classic novel by Ella Hickson, the show returns to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre following the productions acclaimed success in 2013.

The Royal Shakespeare Company have announced their plans for the 2016 season at Stratford-Upon-Avon. Priority booking opens next week.

Following a recent performance, the HAMLET star addressed the audience directly. "I can see cameras, I can see red lights in the auditorium," he told the crowd at the London stage door. "It's mortifying and there's nothing less supportive." Watch his full speech below!

Lyndsey Turner's production of William Shakespeare's HAMLET, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, is currently underway at the Barbican Theatre. As previously reported, the SHERLOCK star has a full schedule following his run in the play, but now the Daily Mail is reporting that Broadway theatre owners have begun scouting the show (a good sign!), which runs for just 12 weeks.
