Following a sensational sell-out season at The Courtyard Theatre, the RSC's production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL transfered to London's West End and opened November 24 to tremendous critical acclaim, and according to Whatsonstage, plans will soon be made concerning bringing the new musical to Broadway. RSC artistic director Michael Boyd announced at a press conference last week that the Mailda team will travel to New York at the end of January to discuss future Broadway plans. Additionally the RSC will 'retain "absolute control" over the production.'

Ghost, the new musical starring Caissie Levy and Richard Fleeshman as Molly Jensen and Sam Wheat will open on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. On Thursday, January 19th, Ghost the Musical will host The Ghost Light Sessions Live, a special sneak peek presentation at the historic Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. We will snuff out the ghost light, which is traditionally left on stage when the theatre is empty to ward off the ghosts of past productions, and welcome this extraordinary new musical to Broadway.

Following a triumphant opening at the Cambridge Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical has extended its booking period. Tickets are now on sale up to, and including, 21 October 2012. The new stage musical, which has captured the imagination of young and old alike, transferred to the West End on Tuesday 25 October 2011.

Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans are to join the cast of Ghost The Musical to play Molly and Sam in Matthew Warchus' stage musical version of the Academy Award® winning film. Ghost The Musical opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in the West End in June this year where it has subsequently been playing to packed houses. Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans join Sharon D Clarke as Oda Mae Brown and Andrew Langtree as Carl who continue in the roles they originated on stage when the production premiered. Matilda The Musical played to sold-out audiences at the RSC's The Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon for twelve weeks from November 2010 to January 2011. Roald Dahl's magical story about a girl with extraordinary powers has been a favourite novel for millions of people across the world since it was published in 1988.

Ghost The Musical announced today that an exclusive presale offer will be extended through The New York Times, in conjunction with Ticketmaster, prior to availability to the general public. Tickets will be available exclusively through The New York Times beginning Sunday, November 13, 2011, through Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Bertie Carvel (Miss Trunchbull), Paul Kaye (Mr Wormwood) Josie Walker (Mrs Wormwood) and Lauren Ward (Miss Honey) will reprise their roles alongside Marc Antolin, Verity Bentham, Peter Howe, Michael Kent, Melanie La Barrie, Matthew Malthouse, Alastair Parker, Nick Searle and Emily Shaw who also appeared in the original production in Stratford. Earlier this month, Ghost the Musical announced that it was releasing an additional 350,000 tickets for sale, as the show officially extended bookings in the West End until October 2012. Today, the New York Times has confirmed earlier reports and rumors and it's now official that the show will open on Broadway in April of 2012 at a 'Nederlander Theater to be determined.' There is no specific word yet on casting, dates, etc.
