Today, October 22, 2013, marks the official 50th anniversary of the National Theatre of Great Britain. The National Theatre first opened its doors in 1963 at the Old Vic, under Laurence Olivier. 800 productions later, they are marking their half-century with a short season celebrating the remarkable people and plays that have made the NT one of the most cherished and creative of great British institutions.

This special event will be broadcast by National Theatre Live to cinemas internationally on Saturday, November 2, 2013 (with many encore dates in U.S. cities). From Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead to The History Boys, from Antony and Cleopatra to Angels in America, from Guys and Dolls to London Road, this will be a thrilling evening of live performance and rare glimpses from the archive, featuring many of the most celebrated actors who have performed on their stages over the past five decades.

Marvel's 'Thor: The Dark World' continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.
The 1980 Broadway production was directed by Robert Allan Ackerman, scenery by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Robert Wojewodski, lighting by Arden Fingerhut, and music by Stanley Silverman. The show featured Richard Gere as Max, David Marshall Grant as Rudy,James Remar as Wolf, Michael Gross as Greta, George Hall as Uncle Freddie, Bryan E. According to reports, the premium cable network has given a 10-episode series order to the drama pilot, co-written by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, and based on Perrotta's book of the same title, which follows The Rapture, which happens not quite like it's supposed to. This is the story of the people who didn't make the cut ... and a world that will never be the same.
Marvel's THOR: The Dark World, starring Chris Hemsworth, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX() 3D format and released into IMAX() 3D theatres internationally beginning Oct. 30.
Private Practice star Amy Brenneman will play Justin Theroux's wife in HBO's THE LEFTOVERS, according to The Hollywood reporter.
