Yellow Sound Label & Playwrights Horizons Release Original Cast Recording of Musical IOWA

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director, Tim Sanford; Managing Director, Leslie Marcus) has announced that the score for their World Premiere production of the musical IOWA has been preserved as an Original Cast Recording, produced by Michael Croiter (Matilda, The Visit, Big Fish) and Todd Almond. IOWA is written by Jenny Schwartz (God's Ear, Somewhere Fun) with music by Todd Almond (Girlfriend) and lyrics by Ms. Schwartz and Mr. Almond.

Two River Theater Announces the Lineup of Artists for AN EVENING ON THE MUSICAL FRONTIER

Two River Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces An Evening on the Musical Frontier, a benefit performance featuring songs from musicals in development at Two River. Alec Baldwin is the Honorary Event Chair for the one-night special event on Friday, May 12, which will begin with a cocktail reception at 6pm.

Theatre East to Honor Richard Mawe with Laurette Taylor Award

Theatre East Board of Directors presents Richard Mawe with the 2017 Laurette Taylor Award on Monday, May 15th at Cafe Tallulah, 240 Columbus Ave, in the Upper West Side. The benefit starts at 7pm with an exclusive cocktail reception. Tickets start at $100. The evening will include tributes, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, entertainment, and an auction.

Adding to the ensemble are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and Nina, a lovely young aspiring actress.

Annie Parisse to Lead Reading of New Play DO THIS at The Davenport

Do This, a new play by Karen Siff Exkorn (bestselling author of The Autism Sourcebook) and starring Annie Parisse (Clybourne Park, The Layover, 'Law and Order') will be performed at an invitation only developmental reading on Thursday, April 27th at 3pm at The Loft at the Davenport Theatre (354 W. 45th Street).

Casting Announced for VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE at Citadel Theatre

Citadel Theatre's 2016-17 season concludes with Christopher Durang's Tony Award®-winning Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Durang's comedy, an updating and mash-up of characters, plot devices and themes from Chekhov's four major plays, won the Tony for Best Production of a Play in the 2013 Tony Awards. Replacing the traditional Chekhovian country estate is the play's setting in a Bucks County, Pennsylvania farmhouse, complete with a cherry orchard of sorts. Vanya and his adopted sister Sonia, named for characters from Chekhov plays by their late professor parents, are living in the family home now owned by their actress sister Masha, who pays the bills.
