David Hyde Pierce Named Master Teacher for Ten Chimneys Foundation's Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship

On January 27, 2014, Ten Chimneys Foundation announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce will serve as the Master Teacher for the 2014 Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program. From July 13-20, ten of the nation's top regional theatre actors will join Mr. Pierce for an intensive weeklong master class and immersion experience at Ten Chimneys, the National Historic Landmark estate of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin.

Phoenix Theatre to Present BEYOND THERAPY, 2/7-3/2

Trinity Rep Hosts Annual RED, WHITE AND GROOVE Tonight

Trinity Rep has announced the return of their annual wine tasting event - Red White & Groove - a casual evening featuring food, wine, and dancing to the music of Superchief Trio. Co-chaired by Gil MacLean and his wife Michelle Collie, the event is sponsored by Bottles Fine Wine. The benefit party will take place tonight January 25th from 7PM to 11PM at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire St., Providence.

Uptown Players to Open Season with VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, 2/14-3/9

Uptown Players opens its 2014 season with the zany Broadway comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play. Written by Christopher Durang and directed by B. J. Cleveland, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike runs at the Kalita Humphreys Theater from February 14 to March 9, 2014.

Cast Announced for TACT's Revival of Christopher Durang's BEYOND THERAPY

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Jenn Thompson, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed company 'dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,' and named 'Company of the Year' by Terry Teachout of The Wall Street Journal, is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for Beyond Therapy, the hilarious comedy by Christopher Durang, the modern master of the outrageous and absurd (and recipient of the 2013 'Best Play' Tony Award for Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike). The spring production of the company's 21st Season directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Scott Alan Evans will begin performances at Theatre Row'sBeckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Opening night is set for Tuesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. Performances will continue through April 19, 2014.

One-Act Parodies Set for MCCC's Kelsey Theatre This Weekend

Poking fun at theater and theater people has become a popular subgenre that winks and nods straight to the funny bone. For one weekend only, M & M Stage Productions presents theater parody at its best at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre with Lawrence Casler's 'A Night in the Theatre' and Christopher Durang's 'The Actor's Nightmare.' These delightful one-acts will be performed tonight and Saturday, Jan. 24 and 25 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance tonight, Jan. 24.

Jamie deRoy and Friends to Return to Birdland, 1/27

Celebrated producer and cabaret performer Jamie deRoy will be hosting a special edition of her multi-MAC Award-winning Variety Show, Jamie deRoy & Friends, on Monday, January 27 at 7pm at Birdland. Jamie's special guests will be Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Kevin Meaney (Hairspray), singer-songwriter Dee Snider, known worldwide as the frontman for Twisted Sister, and Lauren Worsham, who is currently starring in A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder.

Rehearsals are underway for Christopher Durang's 2013 Tony Award-winning comedy, 'Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,' directed by Tony Award and Emmy Award-winner David Hyde Pierce, based on the Broadway direction of Nicholas Martin. 'Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike' will be presented at the Mark Taper Forum, January 29 through March 9, 2014. The opening is scheduled for February 9. Company of Fools to Present GOOD PEOPLE, 2/12-3/1

This February Company of Fools (COF) will present the critically acclaimed and award-winning play, Good People, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. As part of The Center's multi-disciplinary project Creativity and Work, COF will present 13 public performances running from February 12 through March 1.
