Sharriese Hamilton and James Earl Jones II Star In Porchlight's THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG

Porchlight Music Theatre continues its fifth season of Chicago's lost musicals in staged concert series with Porchlight Revisits They're Playing Our Song, starring Sharriese Hamilton and James Earl Jones II, music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager and book by Neil Simon, with direction and choreography by Christopher Carter and musical direction by Andra Velis Simon. Porchlight Revisits They're Playing our Song is presented for three-nights-only Tuesday, March 6 through Thursday, March 8 at 7:15 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's Merrily We Roll Along (previews begin January 26) at Porchlight's new home, The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street. Tickets for They're Playing Our Song are $35. All tickets include access to the popular pre-performance event, Behind the Show Backstory, a multimedia presentation, created and hosted by Porchlight Music Theatre Artistic Director Michael Weber that discusses the evening's production including the show's creative history, juicy backstage gossip and the state of the art on Broadway that season. Casting Announced for HAIR: THE AMERICAN TRIBAL LOVE-ROCK MUSICAL

Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N. Southport Avenue - is pleased to announce the cast of HAIR: THE AMERICAN TRIBAL LOVE-ROCK MUSICAL, playing from July 27 through September 17. Press opening is Thursday, August 3rd at 8:00pm. A celebration of 50 years since the 1967 "Summer of Love", HAIR will inspire audiences to "let the sun shine in" and stand up for what they believe in. This rousing rock musical will be led by Jeff Award Winners Brenda Didier (Director) and Eugene Dizon (Musical Director) with choreography by Christopher Carter.  A talented cast of Chicago artists featuring Matt Keffer and Liam Quealy will take the stage in this celebration of love, life, and freedom. 

Gorilla Rep's Free Shakespeare Presentation Returns

Along with the dog days of August Gorilla Rep's annual FREE performances of William Shakespeare's classic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream, returns to NYC.  The fun family-friendly show can be seen at the Southwest corner of Washington Square Park every Thursday through Sunday at 8 p.m. from August 11 through September 4, 2016.  The production is being remounted by long-time company member actor Greg Petrol, who also plays Oberon, as he has for years.  As is the Gorilla Rep tradition since its inception in 1989, the performance will be immersive and mobile. Each performance moves from place to place as it goes from scene-to-scene with the action!

Gorilla Rep's THE BACCHAE to Head Out on Tour This Season

After its successful run in New York City's Central Park, Gorilla Rep Founding Artistic and Producing Director Christopher Carter Sanderson has announced that Matthew Gasda's thrilling new translation/adaptation of The Bacchae will tour upstate NY in the Fall and will be booking dates nationwide for Spring 2017.

MITF Sets Works for 2015 Festival
