The 2014 recipients of the Horton Foote Prize, named in honor of the legendary writer, to award excellence in American Theater, are presented biennially. The 2014 Prize for the 2012-13/2013-14 seasons' Outstanding New American Play is awarded to The Body of an American by Dan O'Brien. The 2014 Prize for Promising New American Play is awarded to Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2, & 3) by Suzan-Lori Parks.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced fall programming at OBERON, featuring limited engagements of exciting work by groundbreaking artists. The lineup for October and November includes POOL (NO WATER) by Mark Ravenhill, created by One Year Lease Theater Company and directed by Ianthe Demos; SHIDA, a new musical in development, written and performed by Broadway powerhouse Jeannette Bayardelle and directed by Andy Sandberg; and RUBY WAX: SANE NEW WORLD, written and performed by the incomparable comedienne and actor Ruby Wax.

From executive producer/writer Melissa Carter (Jane By Design, Little Black Book) and starring Emmy(R) nominee/SAG Award winner Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Deliverance Creek is a revenge drama centering on a widow and mother of three who is determined to protect her family and land at any cost during the Civil War. Deliverance Creek also stars Wes Ramsey (CSI: Miami), Yaani King (Mad Men), Caitlin Custer (Teen Wolf), Christopher Backus (Elevator), Riley Smith (90210), Katherine Willis (Friday Night Lights) and Christopher Baker (Sanctum).
