A new Broadway revival of the Sondheim/Goldman masterpiece Follies may be in the works

With all due respect to William Shakespeare and Noel Coward, Broadway's never had a ghost story that mixes terror, wit and theatrical thrills quite like Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's Follies, now receiving an Encores! concert staging so loaded with achingly good moments they could loan a few of them out to some of Broadway's current tenants without losing a bit of its sheen.

It's the third Broadway show for Sarah Jane, and the second time this former beauty pageant winner is understudying a Kristin Chenoweth part.

New York City Center's Encores! 2007 Season pays tribute to the 100th Anniversary of the first Ziegfeld Follies, kicking off the celebration with Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's legendary 1971 multiple Tony Award-winner, Follies, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music direction by Eric Stern. Follies will play for six performances, from February 8 - 12 at New York City Center, 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.

On Monday, January 22nd at the Rainbow Room (30 Rockefeller Plaza, 65th Floor), Manhattan Theatre Club presented its annual Winter Benefit, 'An Intimate Night,' an evening of cocktails and dinner followed by a special one-night-only cabaret-style show featuring Christine Baranski, Jesse L.
