The critically acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production of MARY STUART, starring Janet McTeer as Mary, Queen of Scots and Harriet Walter as Elizabeth I, celebrated Opening Night at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) on Sunday, April 19th, 2009. WEDU Television host Cathy Unruh and Tampa attorney Tom Scarritt are putting aside their day jobs on April 25 and becoming actors for the night. Unruh and Scarritt are two of the headliners in a staged reading to benefit at-risk youth in Tampa Bay.

ony Award-winning stage actress and member of the famed Redgrave acting clan, Natasha Richardson sadly passed away Wednesday from injuries suffered in a ski accident. She was 45. To remember the acclaimed Richardson, BWW Photographer Walter McBride has assembled a collection of his favorite photos that he was honored to be able to take of the beloved stage and screen actress.

The New York Post's Michael Riedel is reporting in his 'On Broadway' column this morning that the mother and daughter team of Vanessa Redgrave and Natasha Richardson had such a wonderful time performing in the Roundabout gala benefit reading of Stephen Sondheim's 'A Little Night Music' last month that they're up for a full-fledged revival on Broadway next year.

The 2008-2009 Reprise Theatre Company season continues with the classic international hit 'Man of La Mancha,' starring Brent Spiner, written by Dale Wasserman with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. The production will be directed by Michael Michetti, co-artistic director of The Theatre at Boston Cout.

Reprise Theatre Company presents Brian Stokes Mitchell Sings Broadway, a program especially created for Reprise. It will have one performance only on Monday, May 11 at 8 pm, at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) continues its 2008-09 season with John Guare's Rich & Famous, directed by John Rando (Urinetown, The Musical and Wedding Singer on Broadway) in its first major revival since its 1976 New York debut. From the ingenious mind of John Guare, who brought Six Degrees of Separation and The House of Blue Leaves to the American stage, this delicious dark comedy springs to life with twisted humor, rapid-fire dialogue, and outrageous plot twists. The revival script includes significant rewrites to the original text, as well as hilarious songs freshly scribed by Guare himself. In Rich and Famous, playwright Bing Ringling yearns to savor the sweet taste of celebrity, and he's hoping play number 844 will be his lucky break. But on opening night, he slips into a nightmarish phantasmagoria that shows him just how wrong things can go.
