Today, Sofia Vergara joins a new modern family: she just signed her first beauty contract with COVERGIRL and announced it herself on Twitter and Facebook live from the set. The Emmy nominated actress and mother is currently shooting her first advertising campaign for the cosmetics giant. The ads are scheduled to debut in January 2012 and Vergara will be representing some innovative new additions to the COVERGIRL product line-up.

Now starring world-famous supermodel Christie Brinkley as Roxie Hart (in a limited guest-starring engagement thru Sunday, June 19), CHICAGO is now the fifth-longest running show in Broadway history, as well as Broadway's longest running musical revival. Last night, the production celebrated 6000 performances on Broadway. BroadwayWorld was on hand, of course, for the celebratory cake cutting, and brings you photo coverage below.

It started with the booming ebullient voice of pianist/music director Mark Hummel announcing AMRA FAYE WRIGHT. Then the sophisticated and glamorous Feinstein's audience (Christie Brinkley, Linda Carter and Tommy Tune among others) were captivated by this vivacious, gorgeous, talented Broadway & West End Star. Her show 'Sittin on Top of the World' is an elegant evening of wit, glamour and wonderful interpretations of The Great American Songbook, and takes you on a journey from Amra's native South Africa to her current Broadway gig playing Velma Kelly in the musical Chicago. Mark Hummel's arrangements and pianistic ability created the perfect match for Amra's vocal artistry and well known bassist Dave Fink and Heinrich Kruse on drums added to the high caliber musical evening.

The 25th Annual EASTER BONNET COMPETITION raised $3,706,085, the result of six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 52 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. The grand total was announced at this year's EASTER BONNET COMPETITION, which ended in two shows featuring original presentations, songs and elaborate, custom-made bonnets from 17 of the participating shows. In celebration of the Royal nuptials of Prince William of Wales and Catherine Elizabeth 'Kate' Middleton at Buckingham Palace, the hosts of ABC's popular talker 'The View' will observe this special occasion with 'A Royal Wedding - The View,' a live, one-hour special edition, Friday, April 29 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), covering all the pomp and circumstance. This marks the first time 'The View' has broadcast live on Friday since Sept. 12, 2008. Regularly featured co-hosts Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd will be joined in-studio by Hollywood royalty Goldie Hawn, a featured guest co-host for the day. Barbara Walters, on assignment in London for ABC News, will join the program live via satellite.

Walking along Ninth Avenue on an early Saturday evening after enjoying a light meal at one of the neighborhood sandwich shops, Maxwell Caulfield looks up at the Minskoff Building in the distance and sighs. He remarks, 'What a lovely view you have from the rehearsal space up there! There's a beautiful view of the setting sun as it goes down over the Hudson River! It's gorgeous. That rehearsal space will always be one of my favorite spots in New York.' There's good reason for that because it was in that rehearsal studio that he met his wife, actress Juliet Mills. They were preparing for the touring company of Bernard Pomerance's play THE ELEPHANT MAN in which Caulfield played the title role and Ms. Mills was Mrs. Kendall. The electricity between the two actors was evident to everyone in the room and it blossomed into a full romance and a marriage that has lasted 31 years. In these times of throw-away marriages and quickie divorces, it's refreshing to observe that Maxwell Caulfield is still very much in love with his wife. In fact, the two of them recently toured England together in a production of Alan Ayckbourn's BEDROOM FARCE.
