As previously announced, the cast of SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK will get a chance to perform at the Tony Awards on Sunday, and according to Rolling Stone creators Bono and The Edge will make an appearance as well. The duo will 'likely' introduce the Spidey cast as they take the stage at the Beacon Theatre on June 12.

Christie Brinkley, who made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in CHICAGO earlier this year, receiving great critical acclaim, will come direct from New York to play the role in London's West End from Monday 11 July for a strictly limited four-week season, ending on Saturday 6 August. She will be joined by Amra-Faye Wright, who has been playing Velma Kelly opposite Christie on Broadway. Amra-Faye will also star in the Cambridge Theatre production from 11 July to 6 August. Jonathan Wilkes will continue in the role of Billy Flynn, James Doherty as Amos Hart, Jasna Ivir as Mama Morton and R. Whitehead as Mary Sunshine, all until 27 August, when CHICAGO will leave the Cambridge Theatre.

The 2011 Tony Awards Audemars Piguet Green Room and Gift Suite will be sponsored by luxury watch-making brand Audemars Piguet. The Tony Awards today announced the line-up of performances for the 65th Annual Tony Awards on Sunday, June 12th. Featuring unforgettable opening and closing numbers and non-stop entertainment throughout the entirety of the show - the evening will include performances by the 2011 Tony-nominated Best Musicals, Anything Goes featuring Sutton Foster; Catch Me If You Can with Norbert Leo Butz and Aaron Tveit; How to Suceed in Business Without Really Trying featuring Daniel Radcliffe and John Laroquette; Sister Act featuring Patina Miller; The Book of Mormon featuring Andrew Rannells and The Scottsboro Boys featuring Joshua Henry.

The producers of the Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO announced today that supermodel Christie Brinkley will now make her Broadway stage debut in the role merry murderess Roxie Hart beginning Friday, April 8, 2011.

The Oscars have become famous for the galmour. The MTV Video Music Awards for the onstage drama. And then there is the Tony Awards ceremony, the season closer most celebrated for its live performances. Though always full of surprises, BroadwayWorld has gotten the scoop on a number of performances audiences can expect from their favorite Broadway shows this season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robin Williams and Brooke Shields have been added as presnters for this year's Tony Awards.

Variety is reporting that Tony winners Laura Benanti and Katie Finneran will host the Creative Arts Awards portion of the Tonys, which as in the past will take place before the CBS broadcast. Unlike previous years where the ceremony was an hour, this year's has been shortened to 30 minutes. The trade paper reports that details on which awards they'll be presenting this year are not clear.

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that talks are underway for a potential performance by Bono, The Edge and cast members from SPIDER-MAN on this year's Tony Awards. The show, which hasn't opened yet would traditionally not be offered a performance slot, which are normally reserved for musicals nominated for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical. Riedel also reports that in addition to trying to find a spot for SPIDER-MAN, producers are also attempting to find a slot for PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT. Also on the list? Much of the cast of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS will reunite to perform 'Commencing in Chattanooga' and 'Go Back Home'.
