This summer INDEPENDENT SHAKESPEARE CO. presents an electrified interpretation of Shakespeare's indelible anti-hero, RICHARD III, featuring David Melville as Richard and directed by Independent Shakespeare Co.'s Artistic Director, Melissa Chalsma. RICHARD III opened last night, June 30, at THE GRIFFITH PARK FREE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL and will perform through Sunday, July 24 at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park. This summer INDEPENDENT SHAKESPEARE CO. presents an electrified interpretation of Shakespeare's indelible anti-hero, RICHARD III, featuring David Melville as Richard and directed by Independent Shakespeare Co.'s Artistic Director, Melissa Chalsma. RICHARD III will begin previews at THE GRIFFITH PARK FREE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL on Saturday, June 25 at 7pm and will open on Thursday, June 30 at 7:00pm and perform through Sunday, July 24 at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park.  All ISC Summer Shakespeare productions are FREE to the public!  RICHARD III is the first of two productions being presented at this year's GRIFFITH PARK FREE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL. THE TEMPEST will play July 30 - September 4.

The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company presents Romeo and Juliet, the fifth production in the inaugural Plays at the Garrick season. The production reunites the stars of Branagh's Cinderella, Lily James (Juliet) and Richard Madden. Romeo and Juliet will play at the Garrick Theatre from 12 May until 13 August with press night on 25 May. The production will be broadcast live to cinemas on 7 July. The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company has announced the full cast for Romeo and Juliet, the fifth production in the inaugural Plays at the Garrick season. Joining previously announced Lily James (Juliet), Richard Madden (Romeo) and Derek Jacobi (Mercutio) will be Meera Syal as the Nurse. Romeo and Juliet will play at the Garrick Theatre from 12 May until 13 August with press night on 25 May. The production will be broadcast live to cinemas on 7 July.

Following on from last year's production of King Lear starring Brian Blessed, this February, the award-winning Guildford Shakespeare Company (GSC) kick off their 10th Anniversary Year with Shakespeare's great late play, The Winter's Tale, to be staged in Guildford's Holy Trinity Church.

Ed Sheeran's song 'Photograph' is a classic summer anthem that brings out the best emotions of the season. The increasingly popular young Dutch producer Chris Porter certainly agrees, recently announcing the release of his unofficial, but extremely powerful, remix of the song, bringing it deep into dance floor igniting Progressive House territory.

Playwrights West, a professional theatre company composed of nine acclaimed local playwrights, in association with CoHo Productions, proudly presents the World Premiere of Claire Willett's Dear Galileo, directed by Stephanie Mulligan. In the words of the author, Dear Galileo is 'a play about science, religion, fathers and daughters, sex, creationism, and the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope.' ISC is the 2015 recipient of the LA Drama Critics Circle's highest honor, the Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in theater, and a 2015 recipient of a grant award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

This event brings a three-day, multi-venue comedy showcase to the historic town of Lahaina on the island of Maui. Attendees will have the chance to experience more than 30 of today's funniest and smartest comics, including Hannibal Buress, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, Marc Maron and Aisha Tyler.

Following on from last year's smash hit The Butterfly Lion, the Mercury Theatre Colchester will be producing another Michael Morpurgo classic this August with their Made in Colchester production of Friend or Foe. Opening at the Mercury today, August 29 and running until Saturday, September 13, Friend or Foe is a thrilling tale of extraordinary friendship which will appeal to adults and children alike.

Primavera has announced full casting for Jean-Jacques Bernard's seminal 1922 play Martine, which opens on Tuesday, 22 April 2014 for a four-week season. Award-winning film and television star Hannah Murray plays Martine, supported by the iconic Susan Penhaligon as Madame Mervan, Leila Crerar as Jeanne, Chris Porter as Alfred, and Barnaby Sax as Julien.

This March, 32 stand-up comedians including Mike Birbliga, Craig Ferguson, and Brian Posehn go head-to-head in a bracket hosted by Spotify, with prizes for fans.
