The 2015 "Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 17" now is available on iTunes. The 19-track album of original and traditional holiday music features stars and casts from the current Broadway line-up, and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. The entire album is available for $15.99, and includes a digital booklet with liner notes about each participating cast, designating soloists and session photos. Individual tracks also may be purchased for $.99 each.

Breaking News: Goodbye to the Barricade- LES MISERABLES Will End Broadway Run Next Fall; Final Valjean Announced!

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Cameron Mackintosh's current Broadway revival of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's legendary musical LES MISERABLES will end its acclaimed run on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Imperial Theater (239 West 45th Street). The current Broadway version of LES MISERABLES is the only production of the musical currently playing in North America and stars Alfie Boe, the acclaimed star of the London 25th Anniversary Concert, as Jean Valjean through February 28. John Owen-Jones, who is currently starring as The Phantom in Mackintosh's London production of The Phantom of the Opera, and has played Valjean both on Broadway (in 2007) and in London, will succeed Boe in the role beginning March 1 for the duration of the show's Broadway run. This new production of the musical will have given 1,026 performances over two-and-a-half years. In total, since the 1987 opening of the original production, LES MISERABLESwill have played 8,202 performances on Broadway.

Today's the day! And a huge one it is for the company of NBC's THE WIZ LIVE! The Long Island soundstage that the cast and crew have been calling home for the past month will be bustling today as finishing touches are placed on the star-studded production. Theatre fans know that this won't be the first time that NBC has pulled off such a massive undertaking. 9.21 million people tuned in for last year's PETER PAN LIVE!, while THE SOUND OF MUSIC, presented in 2013, yielded a whopping 18.62 million live viewers- an unprecedented ratings boom for the network.
Few can understand the pressure that comes with this kind of attention, but the casts of THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE! and PETER PAN LIVE! have been through all of it before. Daniel and Laura Curtis will be releasing a new album in the later part of 2016. The album comes on the heels of their chart topping, 'Love On 42nd Street, that featured Broadway and West End artists like: Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, John Owen-Jones, Sierra Boggess, Samantha Barks, and Simon Bowman. Due to the success of their first album, Daniel and Laura have been greatly anticipating working with many more wonderfully talented artists within the industry.
