On Today, October 4 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, opens its 2013-2014 concert season at Carnegie Hall with special guest Chris Botti. The internationally renowned jazz trumpeter joins The New York Pops to perform a new spin on classic standards and other favorites. The performance will include songs such as When I Fall In Love and Emmanuel in addition to other selections from Botti's recent Grammy Award-winning album Impressions.

Mandolin Player Chris Thile to Perform at Zankel Hall, 10/22

On Tuesday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall, Carnegie Hall presents mandolin virtuoso, composer, and vocalist, Chris Thile-of the ensemble Punch Brothers-in a program that features Bach's sonatas and partitas for solo violin played on the mandolin, along with original compositions and contemporary music. Thile's recording of three works by Bach-Sonata No. 1 in G minor, Partita No. 1 in B minor, and Sonata No. 2 in A minor-was recently released on his recording Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 1 on Nonesuch Records. The record was produced by Thile's friend, mentor, and frequent collaborator, the double bassist and composer Edgar Meyer.

The final show of Live @ Benaroya Hall's successful inaugural season is quickly approaching (tickets to The Monkees on August 17 at 8pm, are still available) and Benaroya Hall preps for a stellar sophomore season. Tickets for Chris Cornell and Makana will go on sale at 10am on Friday August 16. All other concert tickets are on sale now. In addition to the seven concerts listed above, more will be added as the season continues on through June of 2014. Information on additional shows will be released as it becomes available.
