Clubbed Thumb's Summerworks Spring Soiree Set for 5/13

Clubbed Thumb -- the Obie Award-winning theater company known for SUMMERWORKS, its annual month-long season of new play premieres -- will hold a Spring Soiree benefit on Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m. at a private residence in Brooklyn. This summer, the students in Site-Specific Directing at Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) have staged theatre all over New York City: from Shakespeare in Central Park to Chekhov on the Staten Island Ferry. The directors concluded their class this week by fully producing five new short plays in and under the High Line Park in Manhattan.

This spring, the students in Site-Specific Directing at Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) have staged theatre all over New York City: from Shakespeare in Central Park and on the High Line to Chekhov in the Russian and Turkish Baths to Sarah Kane on rooftops, libraries, and street corners. The directors concluded their class this week by fully producing eight new short plays by a group of incredible writers in and around the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open Lynn Nottage's award-winning play Ruined, directed by Liesl Tommy, at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 27 in the New Theatre. The play will run through October 31. Ruined joins Lisa's Kron's Well, also playing in the New Theatre, and Hamlet, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Pride and Prejudice, running in the Angus Bowmer Theatre.
