Melissa McGill Launches 'Red Regatta,' Large-Scale Public Art Project On Venice's Lagoon And Canals

From May through November, artist Melissa McGill is choreographing a series of large-scale regattas across Venice's lagoon and canals in a major public art project that celebrates the city's maritime history and calls attention to the forces of climate change and mass tourism that threaten its future. Unfolding in multiple parts, Red Regatta fills Venice's waterways with 52 traditional vela al terzo sailboats, hoisted with hand-painted red sails. Bringing together over 250 local partners,Red Regatta is co-organized by Magazzino Italian Art Foundation, presented in collaboration with Associazione Vela al Terzo Venezia, and curated by Chiara Spangaro and project manager Marcella Ferrari.

I due Foscari, Aida, Luisa Miller, Nabucco sono le opere in programma alla XIX edizione del Festival Verdi, in programma dal 26 settembre al 20 ottobre 2019 al Teatro Regio di Parma, al Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Busseto e da quest'anno, per la prima volta in assoluto, alla monumentale Chiesa di San Francesco del Prato del XIII secolo, per oltre duecento anni trasformata in carcere, poi abbandonata, oggi vero e proprio cantiere in corso di restauro nel cuore della citta, che il festival consentira di scoprire.

Taormina FilmFest Announces 64th Edition Winners

The sixty-fourth edition of the Taormina FilmFest, produced by Videobank, just wrapped having featured over 50 films including 14 World Premieres, 12 European Premieres, and over 10 Italian premieres, including documentaries and shorts, under the new artistic direction of Silvia Bizio and Gianvito Casadonte. The all-female jury, headed by President and producer Martha de Laurentiis, announced the winners of this year's festival, which spotlighted social issues including themes of human rights, feminism, bullying, and social inclusion.

The sixty-fourth edition of the Taormina FilmFest, produced by Videobank and taking place July 14-20 under the new artistic direction of Silvia Bizio and Gianvito Casadonte, has unveiled its full program with over 50 films, including 14 World Premieres, 12 European Premieres, and over 10 Italian premieres, including documentaries and shorts. The screenings will be held in the halls of the Palazzo dei Congressi, where Master Classes and In Conversations featuring special guests will also be hosted.

In 2012 Casi Normales premiered at Teatro Liceo with a group of super talented argentinian performers like Laura conforte, Fernando Dente and Mariano Chiesa. After 5 years of successful productions in Argentina, and also collaborations with the original cast from broadway and Spain, in 2018 Casi Normales came back to the tabloids on its 7th season here in Buenos Aires. in this oportunity with the incorporations of Franco Masini as Henri, Natalie's boyfriend. Natalie is played by Manuela del Campo who has own this role for the last couple productions.
