Luther Burbank Center for the Artsand the Santa Rosa Symphony present a special holiday treat as a part of the2016-2017 Symphony Pops Series on Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m. with A Charlie Brown Christmas Concert. Quickly becoming a favorite on everyone's holiday “must-do” list, this festive afternoon concert features songs from the 1965 classic “Peanuts” animated special as well as other traditional Christmas favorites.  Special guest pianist and Steinway Artist Jim Martinez, along with his Quartet, join the Santa Rosa Symphony under the baton of Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz in paying tribute to famous Snoopy songs, with music written or arranged by Vince Guaraldi.

The Marcus Center Presents series, sponsored by Envoy Restaurant and Lounge, is excited to bring the two- mega groups, The Manhattan Transfer and Take 6, to the intimate Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall for The Summit Concert.  This one night only performance is on Wednesday, October 26 at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $75 and go on sale on Friday, May 20 at 12:00 pm. The Manhattan Transfer performed at Jan McArts Live at Lynn Series in Boca Raton last night and BroadwayWorld was there. Check out the photos below. The legendary vocal group founded by Tim Hauser in 1969 has won 10 Grammy Awards and 20 nominations.  The audiences at the groups two sold out concerts were treated to many famous arrangements from the groups storied song book. Among others the Boca audience heard, Candy, Operator, Birdland, (for which Janis Siegel won a Grammy Award for best arrangement), and Route 66.  Alan Paul, Janis Siegel, Cheryl Bentyne, and Trist Curless also displayed their vocal expertise in some great solos.
