Formed in 2008 by Cheek by Jowl's Associate Director Owen Horsley, Eyestrings Theatre Company is committed to producing courageous and bold interpretations of the classics. The Arts Council-funded company premieres its new production of Webster's The Duchess of Malfi at the Burton Taylor Studio, Oxford tonight, 5 - 8th September followed by a run at The White Bear Theatre, London 11th - 30th September.

The world premiere of Barrow Hill, a first play by new playwright Jane Wainwright, starring Janet Henfrey, and directed by Abbey Wright - whose recent work includes the multi-four star production of Dublin Carol as part of the Donmar at the Trafalgar Studios season - opens at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of Sunday and Monday evening and Tuesday matinee performances today, 19 August 2012 (Press Night: Monday, 20 August 2012 at 7.30pm).

The Summer Season at the Finborough Theatre continues with rediscoveries of EVENTS WHILE GUARDING THE BOFORS GUN and MERRIE ENGLAND. Commemorating the tenth anniversary of the death of playwright John McGrath, and unseen in a professional production in London since 1966, John McGrath's Events While Guarding The Bofors Gun opens at the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre for a limited four-week season from Tuesday, 22 May 2012 directed by Robert Hastie. Merrie England plays at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of nine Sunday and Monday evening performances and Tuesday matinees, opening tonight, 27 May 2012.

Jeremy Herrin directs the World Premiere of Matthew Dunster's Children's Children running at the Almeida now through 30 June 2012, with press night on 24 May. Designs are by Robert Innes Hopkins with lighting by Neil Austin and sound by Ian Dickinson. The cast comprises Emily Berrington (Effie), Beth Cordingly (Louisa), Darrell D'Silva (Michael), Trevor Fox (Gordon), John MacMillan (Castro) and Sally Rogers (Sally). UK theater company Cheek by Jowl returns to BAM with a new production of John Ford's Jacobean drama 'Tis Pity She's a Whore, presented in its U.S. premiere. A violent and bloody tragedy-and one of the most controversial plays in the English canon-it tells the tale of an incestuous love between Giovanni and his sister Annabella that ends in disaster and death. 'Tis Pity takes place against a backdrop of lust, vengeance, greed, and corruption.
