John Malkovich to Direct The Irish Rep's A CELEBRATION OF HAROLD PINTER, Starring Julian Sands

The Irish Repertory Theatre, in association with Nick Brooke LTD. and Pleasance, are proud to announce the return of Julian Sands (Room With a View, The Killing Fields, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) in A CELEBRATION OF HAROLD PINTER, directed by acclaimed actor and director John Malkovich (Places in the Heart, The Caretaker).  Originally presented during The Irish Rep's 2012-13 Theater Season, the critically acclaimed solo show returns for a strictly-limited engagement from Tuesday, March 15th - Sunday, April 3rd, 2016.  Tickets are on sale now through The Irish Rep box office at 212-727-2737 or online at www.irishrep.org.

Irish Rep's Reading Series Continues With CHARLOTTE'S LETTERS, Starring Margo Seibert & More

The Irish Repertory Theatre, which 'encourages the development of works focusing on the Irish and Irish-American experience, and produces works of other cultures interpreted through the lens of an Irish sensibility,' continues the 10th season of the Irish Rep Reading Series.  A staged reading of Jennifer O'Grady's play Charlotte's Letters will be held on Friday, January 29 at 3pm EST at the DR2 Theater, 103 East 15th Street (the Irish Repertory Theatre's temporary home during current renovations).  The Irish Rep's literary manager, Kara Manning, will direct the reading. Tickets are free, and the event is open to the public.  An RSVP to 212-727-2737 is suggested.

Alison Fraser, Robert Petkoff & More Set for GTG/Project Shaw's THE MAN OF DESTINY, 2/15

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, continues its 11th Season when it presents its 111th concert presentation with Shaw's comedy, The Man of Destiny on Monday, February 15 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

Irish Rep to Stage Seamus Heaney's THE BURIAL AT THEBES

The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) presents its first production of 2016, THE BURIAL AT THEBES written by Irish Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney, based on Sophocles' Antigone.  Directed by Charlotte Moore, THE BURIAL AT THEBES will now star two-time Emmy Award-winner and Tony nominee Larry Bryggman (Proof, Picnic, "As the World Turns") as Creon, The King of Thebes (who replaces the previously announced John Cullum), and Rebekah Brockman (seen as Nettie on the acclaimed Cinemax series "The Knick") as Antigone.  THE BURIAL AT THEBES will be performed Thursday, January 14 - Sunday, March 6, 2016. Irish Repertory Theatre to Host Memorial for Playwright Brian Friel Next Week

The Irish Repertory Theatre will honor the life and legacy of the great Irish playwright Brian Friel (January 9, 1929 - October 2, 2015) with a memorial celebration to be held on Monday, December 7th, 2015 at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, 261 West 47th Street, New York City.  Doors will open at 3:30 PM and the celebration will begin at 4:00 PM.   This event is open to the public but attendees must RSVP to friel@irishrep.org and indicate number of attendees.

Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) proudly presents their annual holiday offering, this year a revival of Dylan Thomas's classic A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES.  Adapted and directed by Charlotte Moore, A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES features two-time Tony Award-winner John Cullum.   Performances begin Tuesday, November 24th, 2015.  The Press Opening is now Sunday, December 6th.
