THE SOUND OF MUSIC National Tour Makes DC Premiere Next Month

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents the touring production of The Sound of Music, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien. This lavish new production will make its Washington, D.C. premiere at the Kennedy Center Opera House June 13-July 16, 2017 as part of a North American tour. Tickets are currently on sale.

It's not often that adaptions of beloved classics can do justice to the original, but that is precisely what the latest installment of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by Jack O'Brien, has accomplished. The current U.S. tour made a stop at TPAC's Andrew Jackson Hall on Tues., Feb. 14 for the opening night in Nashville - and it did not disappoint.

Charlotte Maltby recently took over the leading role of Maria Von Trapp in the national tour of Rogers and Hammerstein's SOUND OF MUSIC. Under the direction of triple Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, the production opens Tuesday, January 24th, at Omaha's Orpheum Theater. I had the opportunity to speak with Charlotte by phone yesterday.

Charlotte Maltby Cast As New Maria in SOUND OF MUSIC Tour

Charlotte Maltby will join the cast as Maria Rainer in the national tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music, which premieres in Nashville with a one-week, limited engagement February 14-19, 2017, at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall.
