As we flip the page on our calendars from August to September, a number of areas around the country are beginning to experience a change of seasons from summer to fall - kids are back in school, the temperatures are a bit cooler, and a few leaves are starting to show some autumn colors. But here on the California Central Coast - temperatures are still warm, and several theatres' Fall Seasons are just heating up!

Performances are April 9 through May 2, 2009 at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street in Boston's South End. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00pm. Press Performance is Sunday April 12 at 3pm. The 2009 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to British playwright and Liverpool native, Chloe Moss for her critically acclaimed play This Wide Night.

Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer; Daniel Sullivan, Acting Artistic Director 2007-2008) has announced the 2008 recipients of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Initiative commissions.

Francesca Annis, Lisa Dillon, Chris O'Dowd, Dominic Rowan and Catherine Tate are to star in the West End premiere of David Eldridge's Under The Blue Sky which will open at the Duke of York's Theatre on 25 July, with previews from 15 July, and is currently booking until 20 September 2008. Directed by Anna Mackmin, Under The Blue Sky is designed by Lez Brotherston with lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Arditti, and is produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions and Robert G. Bartner. Final casting will be announced shortly.

The 2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Judith Thompson for her critically acclaimed play Palace of the End, marking the first time a Canadian writer has received the prestigious playwriting award's highest honor. Thompson received $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning at a special 30th Anniversary ceremony on Monday, March 10th at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas where Ms. Blackburn first became involved in theatre.

Directed by Indhu Rubasingham and performed by Holly Aird, Cavan Clerkin, Brendan Coyle, Amanda Drew, John Marquez and Javone Prince, Chain Play II will be performed for one night only on 29 February 2008 at 7.30pm.

After the huge success of the Almeida's fundraising event in March this year, the theatre has invited writers Stephen Adly Guirgis, Richard Bean, Neil LaBute, Abi Morgan, Mike Poulton and Tanya Ronder to write Chain Play II. Performed for one night only on 29 February 2008 at 7:30PM

Orlando Bloom will star in David Storey's 'In Celebration' at The Duke of York's Theatre this Summer.

Almeida will host its first ever Chain Play for one night only, Friday, March 23, as the theatre's primary 2007 fundraising event.
