The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Webster University will co-host the St. Louis premiere reading of the epilogue to the acclaimed play The Laramie Project which, since its debut in 2000, has been one of the most performed plays in America.

From the Equity Red Carpet entrance to a capacity crowd of theater and business celebrities, the stage was set for an evening of glamour and drama at this year's 15th Annual Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre Ceremony on Monday, October 5 at the Walnut Street Theatre. Presented by the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, the black-tie ceremony, directed by Karen DiLossi, celebrated the work of local theatre artists as well as the vibrancy of the region's theatrical offerings with 26 awards.

The Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia announced that artist and educator, Dugald MacArthur will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 15th Annual Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre on Monday, October 5th at 7:00 PM at the Walnut Street Theatre. John P. Connolly, Executive Director of Actors' Equity Association, and a former student of Dugald's in Temple University's graduate program, will present the award.

The Wilma Theater continues its 30th Anniversary Season with the East Coast Premiere of Scorched, directed by the Wilma's co-Artistic Director Blanka Zizka and written by highly acclaimed Lebanese-Canadian playwright Wajdi Mouawad. An international tour de force, Scorched arrives in the U.S. having received more than 100 productions worldwide. It has been translated into a dozen languages and is currently being adapted into a feature film. The Wilma's production ? only the second U.S. production of the play ? begins previews on February 25, opens on March 4, and closes on March 29, 2009.
