Over 300 performances of more than 50 different programs of theater, dance and music featuring local and world-renowned talent are on tap for the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' 2016/17 season, among them a production of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, helmed by SPRING AWAKENING director Michael Arden.
The Kitchen presents the next installment of the institution's longest ongoing series, Danceand Process. The program of new works features artists Karen Bernard, Benjamin Van Buren, Niall Jones, and Ander Mikalson. These performances are the culmination of a ten-week group process of sharing work and feedback. Dance and Process is facilitated by Moriah Evans, Yve Laris Cohen, and Sarah Michelson.

The Jose Limon Dance Foundation announces the appointment of Colin Connor as new Artistic Director. A renowned contemporary choreographer and dance educator, Connor will succeed the legendary Carla Maxwell on July 1, 2016 to become only the fifth Artistic Director in the Company's 70 year history and the first man to lead the Company since Limon himself.

'Songs of the Harlem River: Forgotten one acts from the Harlem Renaissance' is a collection of one-acts written between 1920-1930 including works by Marita Bonner, Rafe M. Coleman, Georgia Douglas Johnson, Willis Richardson and Eulalie Spence as well as the poems of Sterling A. Brown, Langston Hughes and others. The evening is directed and choreographed by Shela Xoregos and will have its world premiere August 30 to September 6 in Theater for the New City's 2015 Dream Up Festival.
