Kaatsbaan Cultural Park has announced September 17 & 18: The Glass Etudes at Kaatsbaan - celebrating Philip Glass's 85th birthday.

Kaatsbaan Cultural Park today announced the full programming for its 2022 Fall Festival, with a host of stars and premieres in the scenic Hudson Valley location.

The Flea has commissioned Ebony Noelle Golden, James Scruggs, and Chanon Judson to devise and stage public performances in celebration of Juneteenth. These artists all have full autonomy over artistic vision and their budgets.

The Obie Award-winning HERE will present the HERE Artist Residency Program production of Cannabis! A Viper Vaudeville. 

Kaatsbaan Cultural Park today announced the full programming for its 2022 Summer and Fall Festivals, with a host of stars and premieres from Dance, Music, Poetry, Sculpture, and Culinary Art Worlds in the scenic Hudson Valley location.

When this year’s PROTOTYPE Festival was put off for a year because of Covid concerns, some of the pieces went into mothballs. Taylor Mac’s THE HANG, under the auspices of HERE, one of New York’s major downtown arts organizations, based in Tribeca, decided to, uh, hang around.

Hair & Other Stories uses storytelling and dance to reflect on race, identity and ideas of beauty through the lens of Black women’s hair.

The Obie Award-winning HERE announced today that The Hang, featuring book and lyrics by Taylor Mac, music by Matt Ray and direction by Niegel Smith, has added three performances to its run due to popular demand. The added performances will be on Saturday February 12th, Saturday February 26th and Saturday March 5th at 2pm.

The women-led company premieres a new dance-theater work reflecting on familial lines as part of an evening program celebrating 35+ years of bringing untold and under-told stories to light through dance.

Originally set to begin performances on January 7, 2022 as part of the PROTOTYPE Festival, The Hang will now begin performances on Thursday January 20, 2022 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, NY, NY 10013), and run through Sunday February 20, 2022.

New Perspectives Theatre Company has announced Now or Never, our 12th Annual Women's Work Short Play Festival, running virtually Saturday, June 26 at 12:00pm to Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at midnight.

The Shed, HERE, and Musical Theatre Factory will present Chronicle X by playwright, director, and performer Nia Witherspoon as part of Open Call at The Shed. Chronicle X is the first work in The Dark Girl Chronicles, a ritual-play cycle designed to crystallize in the collective memory the stories of Black women warriors against state violence.

The Tank announced today upcoming programming for March 2021. Presented in association with The Center at West Park, Glass Town by Miriam Pultro (Comings and Goings) and directed by Daniella Caggiano (Fun Home) will stream on CyberTank on Friday March 19, 2021 at 7:30PM ET.

Black Dance Stories announced its dynamic lineup of Black dance creatives for November. Consistent with the tradition of Black artists finding a way for their voices to be heard during turbulent times, the popular series features Black artists who use their work to raise societal issues and strengthen community through art.
