A group of up and coming theatre professionals have been hard at work writing, composing, directing and choreographing the newest theatrical adventure by the award-winning ensemble A BROKEN UMBRELLA THEATRE. THE LIBRARY PROJECT, a commission by the New Haven Free Public Library Foundation, features the work of over 70 artists, including composer/lyricist Rob Shapiro, composer Chrissy Gardner, playwright Jason Patrick Wells, choreographer Robin Levin and directors Ian and Rachel Alderman.

Michael Perlman, whose critically acclaimed NYFringe solo show, Flying on the Wing, was named Outstanding Solo Show of 2006, debuts his new ensemble play, From White Plains, produced by Fault Line Theatre at the CSV Cultural Center from tonight, May 31st through June 10th. Perlman's solo show powerfully and imaginatively dealt with the playwright's personal struggles dealing with Stickler's Syndrome and coming to terms with his sexuality.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the full cast of Andrew Hinderaker's new play Suicide, Incorporated, directed by Jonathan Berry. Yale Rep's original musical, 'POP!' and Hartford Stage's production of Horton Foote's marathon 'The Orphans' Home Cycle' are big winners of the 20th annual Connecticut Critics Circle. Between them, Yale and Hartford took 11 awards out of a total of 19, with Yale pulling off a first-time feat of copping both outstanding play and musical.

Connecticut's Courant Blog reports the 2010 Connecticut Critics Circle winners, awarded Monday evening. Winning for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Musical of the Year is New Haven's Yale Rep, for ECLIPSED and POP!, respectively.
