When a young director receives international recognition for a film based on his experience of bullying in high school, he names the real-life bully in his acceptance speech. The two lives that once intersected in high school now run parallel in adulthood. Is forgiveness possible? Or can the consequences of one's actions be so dire that no amount of remorse will open the door to resolution? These are some of the questions asked by FROM WHITE PLAINS, playing at the Kitchen Theatre Company from October 16 to November 10, 2013.

Following two sold-out Off-Broadway runs, FROM WHITE PLAINS, conceived and written by Michael Perlman in collaboration with Craig Wesley Divino, Karl Gregory, Jimmy King, and Aaron Rossini, will be produced at the Kitchen Theatre with its original cast, director and design team.

"When the lights went down after the final scene of FROM WHITE PLAINS, I had to stay in my seat for a moment. In fact, most of the audience took a second to take a breath before moving from the world of the play to the real world in the theater lobby," says Artistic Director, Rachel Lampert. "The play presents so many points of view about guilt, responsibility, and remorse, it evoked comparison to Dostoyevsky and Wells' Citizen Kane."

The play's ensemble of Equity actors have been working together for several years as part of Fault Line Theatre, a company founded in 2010 by Trinity Rep/Brown MFA graduates Craig Wesley Divino, Aaron Rossini and Tristan Jeffers.

The cast features Kitchen Theatre Company veteran actors Karl Gregory (Mrs. Mannerly, The Santaland Diaries, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Swimming in the Shallows, and many more) and Jimmy King (boom) with Fault Line Co-Artistic Directors, Craig Wesley Divino (Cornell '05) and Aaron Rossini.

FROM WHITE PLAINS is written and directed by Michael Perlman, whose directorial work has been seen at Trinity Repertory Company, Boise Contemporary Theater, Creede Repertory Theater, Swine Palace and Maples Rep. He was a member of Hangar Theater's Lab Company in 2004 and 2007. Michael is an Artistic Associate with both Fiasco Theater and Fault Line Theatre. He is a member of SDC, a Drama League Directing Fellow, and holds a BA and MFA from Brown University. Tristan Jeffers, set designer, John Eckert, lighting designer, Jessica Shay, costume designer and Chad Raines, sound designer, complete the creative team.

Kitchen Theatre Company is pleased to have the support of Production Co-ProducerViva Taqueria & Cantina, Sponsor Briar Patch Veterinary Hospital and Media Sponsor WVBR.

In conjunction with the Ithaca premiere of From White Plains, the Kitchen Theatre Company will present a number of ancillary events: free pre-show discussions with local experts on issues related to the play and post-show talk backs with the cast and Artistic Director.
