Rose Theatre Kingston today announces the cast for the world premiere of My Brilliant Friend, a two-part adaptation of Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan quartet of novels which have become a global literary sensation. 

In the wake of Brian Friel's death, director Annabelle Comyn's clear production is more than dutiful. In pitting the mythic shapes of the Mundy sisters against the machinery of the industrial age, old Irish symbols are still painfully nostalgic.

Based on John Buchan's 1914 spy thriller The Thirty Nine Steps and adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow (Desmond Oliver Dingle/The National Theatre of Brent), The 39 Steps is directed by Maria Aitken, with design by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Ian Scott, sound by Mic Pool, and movement by Toby Sedgwick. The 39 Steps is presented by Edward Snape for Fiery Angel and Tricycle London Productions with the West Yorkshire Playhouse. From an original concept by Simon Corble & Nobby Dimon.

Touring theatre company Out of Joint, led by legendary Artistic Director Max Stafford-Clark, today announced the full list of four shows which it will be presenting in London this autumn.

Max Stafford-Clark's new production of Caryl Churchill's Top Girls is to transfer to the Trafalgar Studios following its critically acclaimed, sell-out run at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester. Top Girls, produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, will run at the Trafalgar Studios from 5 August - 15 October 2011 with press night on 16 August 2011. Designs are by Tim Shortall with lighting by Jason Taylor, sound by Ian Dickinson and video design by Finn Ross. Stafford-Clark's Out of Joint/ Chichester Festival Theatre co-production reunites him with producer Sonia Friedman, with whom he co-founded Out of Joint Theatre Company in 1993.

The newest contender in FX's stable of dramas, Lights Out, will make its debut on Tuesday, January 11 at 10 PM ET/PT. Later that month, the network will roll out the second season of its critically acclaimed animated comedy Archer on Thursday, January 27 at 10 PM ET/PT.
