Proteus and Valentine, lifelong friends, are about to embark on youthful adventures: for Valentine, and his witty servant Speed, it's off to the Court of Milan to make his fortune. Proteus would rather stay home in Verona to pursue amorous adventures with the radiant Julia, but soon he too is bound for Milan, with his trusty servant, Launce, and his faithful dog Crab.

Frog & Peach Theatre Company (now in its seventeenth season), will present William Shakespeare's romantic comedy 'TWELFTH NIGHT,' directed by Lynnea Benson. It will be presented at The West End Theatre (the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew), 263 West 86th Street (between West End Avenue and Broadway). Performances will officially open on Sunday, April 24 at 3:00 PM. Performances will run thru Sunday, May 15.

Last night, Monday, May 10, The New Group opened their latest production of The Kid. This marks the final production in The New Group's current 2009-2010 season, which featured Kenneth Lonergan's The Starry Messenger and most recently, the hit revival of Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, directed by Ethan Hawke. The Kid plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement through May 29 at The New Group @ Theatre Row. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the opening night after party arrivals.

Last night, Thursday February 18, The New Group opened Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, directed by Ethan Hawke, as the second production in its 2009-2010 season. Prompter on Hand for First Week of THE STARRY MESSENGER

According to the cast, a prompter will be on hand for the first week of performances of THE STARRY MESSENGER. As the director/writer Kenneth Lonergan continually made changes up to the first preview performance, actors felt they would be more comfortable on stage with a line prompter in the first row to assist them if they got stuck. Due to the last minute rewrites, the cast was unable to hold a full run through with an audience prior to the first preview. The New York Times reports that during the first preview on Monday, an audience member estimated that the show's star, Matthew Broderick, called out for about 10 lines throughout the night.
