The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today a two-week extension for the world premiere of MLIMA'S TALE. Written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed by Obie Award winner Jo Bonney, MLIMA'S TALE continues The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street, celebrating 50 years of new work and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR. MLIMA'S TALE will now run two additional weeks through Sunday, June 3.

The Brits Off Broadway season continues at 59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) with the US premiere of ALL I WANT IS ONE NIGHT, written by Jessica Walker, with music director Joseph Atkins. Produced by Jess Walker Music Theatre, in association with Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester, ALL I WANT IS ONE NIGHT begins performances on Tuesday, June 5 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 1.

The gala celebrated John Tiffany, the Tony Award-winning Director of Once, which had its world premiere at NYTW, as well as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; along with Barbara Cutler Emden, who is celebrating 25 years of arts advocacy and exceptional service on the NYTW Board of Trustees.

A.C.T.'s Fellowship Program To Present Caryl Churchill's FAR AWAY And José Rivera's BRAINPEOPLE

This month, 13 members of A.C.T.'s Fellowship Program will present Caryl Churchill's Far Away and Jose Rivera's Brainpeople as part of The Fellowship Project 2018. Performances will take place April 19-22, 2018, at A.C.T.'s Costume Shop Theater (1117 Market Street). Each year, the A.C.T. fellows have the opportunity to come together and, with the guidance of professional A.C.T. mentors, produce a project entirely on their own. The project is designed to exercise the skills developed throughout each fellowship and encourage fellows to take on supporting roles outside of their regular assignments, ultimately culminating in a work each fellow can proudly add to their professional experience. This will be the fifth consecutive year that a fellowship class has produced The Fellowship Project.

The Barbour Playwrights Award Continues With MOMMY'S LITTLE PRINCESS

The Barbour Playwrights Award continues on Wednesday, March 28 at 7pm with a reading of Teresa Lotz's Mommy's Little Princess. In Mommy's Little Princess, Ingrid, her boyfriend, and her new roommate find a unique way to play house, upending our notions of relationship 'norms' and the definition of family. Directed by Daniella Caggiano, the cast includes Cynthia Bastidas, Azalea Lewis, Kevin Hoffman, and Isabella Schiller. Doors open at 6:40 pm. The reading will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.

Recipients of the second annual Tonic Awards were announced tonight at an awards ceremony held at the May Fair Theatre hosted by Dame Jenni Murray. The awards celebrate the achievements of game-changing women in theatre and the performing arts, and significant organisations, projects and productions that redefine the role of women in the performing arts, both on and off stage. The recipients honoured in this evenings event were: Emma de Souza, Clean Break theatre company, Walking the Feminists, The Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester, Steffi Holtz and Gina Abolins, Kully Thiarai, Lyn Gardner, Caryl Churchill and Katie Mitchell.
