Over one jam packed weekend, August 10-12, six new musicals will be brought to life with help from more than 100 artists and one dozen directors and authors from across the country.

Broadway leads Nicolas Dromard (Mary Poppins), Carrie Manolakos (Mamma Mia) and Leah Horowitz (Follies) have joined 15 other Broadway and Hollywood performers in helping to kick off the inaugural season of the Transcendence Theatre Company's Broadway Under The Stars in Jack London State Park concert series this summer in Sonoma, California. The New York Civil Liberties Union (the New York State affiliate of the ACLU) today announced additional casting for its annual benefit concert, Broadway Stands Up for Freedom, at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, on Monday, July 23.

New York Theatre Barn (Joe Barros, Artistic Director; Jason Najjoum, Producing Director; Barry Levine, Managing Director) will launch the 6th consecutive year of its acclaimed monthly platform for emerging musical theater writers, NYTB in the D-Lounge, on July 9, 2012 at the D-Lounge of the Daryl Roth Theatre. Featured writing teams will be Charlie Sohne and Tim Rosser, and Adam Spiegel and Dan Wolpow, all alumni of the Tony Award-winning BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Featured writers for later months in the 6th season will be announced at a later date.

On Tuesday, June 5, Mark Fisher Fitness will host UNICORN JAMBOREE to benefit Broadway Bares and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The event, taking place from 9pm-2am at Industry will be hosted by Alexis Michelle, and will feature Joe Cassidy, Carrie Manolakos, Patti Murin, Kyle Post, Rachel Potter, Daniel Reichard and 2/3 Goat.
